Technical Screening for Indian Stocks: RSI, MACD, and Trend Indicators
RSI oversold/overbought, MACD crossovers, SuperTrend direction and ADX — how to combine technical indicators for NSE stock screening.
RSI: Oversold, Overbought, and the Sweet Spot
RSI(14) below 30 suggests oversold—potential bounce candidates. Above 70 suggests overbought—watch for exhaustion. The 55–75 zone with rising slope is the momentum sweet spot for continuation trades. Our reversal screeners use RSI for oversold (R1) and overbought (R3) setups; momentum screeners use the mid-range for trend confirmation.
MACD, SuperTrend, and ADX
MACD crossovers signal momentum shifts—bullish cross with MACD above zero is a strong setup. SuperTrend shows trend direction; price above SuperTrend is uptrend. ADX ≥ 20 indicates a trending market (not ranging). Our MACD Swing Setup, Strong Trend, and SuperTrend Ride screeners apply these filters to find technical setups in NSE stocks.
